Shades of Fall

Most of us think that this season is only about fading or dying but I can’t completely share this opinion. If you think a little bit further there is hope in autumn for us because we know there will be a spring after winter - it is sadly, not for everyone. I’ve spent unforgettable summers in our house at Lake Balaton but I always loved the most when the calendar’s page turned to September. While I was editing this album those falls were on my mind, when the Sun couldn’t dry up the morning dew anymore, when we were busy with picking up the walnuts from the ground all day long. I have finished a set of piano pieces called ‘September’ for a brilliant pianist Kriszta Kovacs in 2001 (I was done with the score when the tragic happened). The ‘Autumn Waltzes’ was completed at the beginning of 2003 and I composed the ‘Afternoon’ set for this release. If you’d ask me to pick a season I think I would choose this one. If you need an answer to your ‘why’ I recommend you to listen to this album. I’m not the man of spoken words.
